This tutorial was written by me on May 27, 2006. You may link to it through your groups and print it out for future use, but NOTHING, including my ideas, are to be removed from this site. This tutorial assumes that you have a reasonable knowledge of PSP and working with layers. I am using the incredible work of Jessica Dougherty. Please visit this talented artist by visiting her site. Do NOT email me for the tube; please visit CILM to purchase her work.

You will need the following supplies:

Tube of your choice

Mura’s Meister Copies

Twink – not made by me!

Arrow preset shapes

 1. Open a new transparent image, 700x600 so that we have plenty of room to work with. Flood fill with white.

 2. Copy and paste your tube as a new layer. Resize as needed, being sure that “resize all layers” is unchecked.

 3. Activate your preset shape tool with a line width of 5, being sure that both vector and anitalias are checked. Have your foreground set to white or a color of your choice. Find arrow 8. If you choose white, you will want to hide your background layer so that you can see your shape. Image/rotate to the right or left depending on which direction you drew your shape from by 90 degrees. Stretch to your liking and then layers/convert to raster layer.

 4. Duplicate your arrow layer by right clicking on your layer palette. On the original layer, NOT the copy, go to effects/3d effects with the following settings:

 5. Use your magic wand tool and click inside of the TOP shape. Selections/modify/expand by 2. Layers/new raster layer and drop this layer beneath your shape. Flood fill with a gradient of your choice, keeping it selected.

 6. Effects/geometric effects/pixelate with the following settings:

 7. Still selected, effects/edge/enhance. Deselect.

 8. Grab your pen tool with a line width of 3, set on diamonds with vector checked. I used the color white. Holding down the shift key to keep it straight, draw lines to match your pixilated squares. Layers/convert to raster layer.

 9. Continue drawing lines and converting to a raster layer. See finished tag for reference. Hide all layers except for your dotted lines. Layers/merge visible and then unhide the rest. Give your lines the following drop shadow:

 10. Activate your preset shape tool, set on ellipse with a line width of 5, vector checked and a line style of dashed. Have your foreground color set on one from your tube, background null, and draw a circle. Layers/convert to raster layer and drop beneath all of your layers.

 11. Give it the same drop shadow as above. Continue drawing circles in colors of your choice. I used two shades of pink and white.

 12. Hide all of your layers BUT the circles you drew. Layers/merge visible. Then unhide the rest. Duplicate your circles layer.

 13. On your bottom layer of your circles, NOT the copy, go to Effects/plugins/Mura’s Meister Copies with the following settings:

 14. Lower the opacity to 70.

 15. Activate your text tool in a color of your choice, with both vector and anitalias checked. I used LFH Sofia Script. Layers/convert to raster layer and give it a drop shadow.

 16. Add your copyright information and your watermark so that you both receive credit for your work!

 17. Crop your image and save as a jpg. If you would like to animate it, continue reading!

***Animation***

 18. Crop your image as above. Edit/copy merged and then launch your animation shop. Right click and paste as a new image.

 19. Hit “shift/control L” on your keyboard three times so that you have a total of four frames. Click inside of the first frame and hit “control A” to select all of the frames.

 20. Open your silver twink animation provided. Click inside of the first frame and hit “control A” to select all of them. “Control C” to copy. Use your mouse to drag your animation over to your main canvas and place to your liking.

 21. Back on the twink animation, hit “control Z” to undo and the animation will reappear. Continue dragging your twinks over to your canvas as many times as you would like.

 22. Animation/frame properties and change the speed to 10. Go to View/animation to see your tag in motion! Save your tag as a gif file and you’re finished. I hope that you have enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or leave me a note on the forum. Thanks for stopping by!
