This tutorial was written by Laura Emch on January 11, 2007. You may link to it through your groups and print it out for future use, but nothing, including my ideas, are to be removed from this site. I used the awesome work of Armando Huerta. You must own a license to use his work; please visit Stickerchick to do so.

You will need the following supplies:

Tube of your choice

SE_Valentines_Paper 1 or pattern of your choice

SE_Valentines Beads – from Scrappy Expressions

hrtsbyKellyj – thank you for all of your amazing shares!

Eye Candy Impact

Dsb flux

 1. Open a new transparent, 700x600 image. Flood fill with white to give you a better idea of what you’re working with. Copy and paste your tube as a new layer. Resize as needed, being sure that “resize all layers” is unchecked. Give it a drop shadow. I used Loka’s 3d with the following settings, but any will do!

 2. Activate your preset shape tool set on rectangle with a line width of 4; foreground color white or a light one from your tube. Set your background to pattern and find your Valentine Paper 1. You may want to colorize the pattern first depending on your tube choice.

 3. Draw a horizontal rectangle and drop beneath your tube to get a better idea of sizing. Hold down your shift key while hovering your mouse over the top left node. Drag it right to create the perspective. Repeat on the right hand node, but drag left. Layers/convert to raster layer.

 4. Give it the following drop shadow:

 5. Copy and paste the Valentine Beads as a new layer and resize as needed to fit your shape. Effects/plugins/dsb flux with the following settings:

 6. Give them a light drop shadow. Duplicate the bead layer. Image/mirror and place to your liking.

 7. Copy and paste a heart of your choice from Kelly’s hearts file. Place at the top left corner of your pattern; see finished tag for reference. Image/rotate to the left by 15 degrees. Duplicate your heart by right clicking on your layer palette.

 8. On the bottom layer, not the copy, effects/plugins/Eye Candy Impact motion trail. On the settings tab, choose “Coming in for a Landing.” Then in the preview pane, use your mouse to adjust the nodes to your liking:

 On the basic tab:

 10. Give the top heart layer a drop shadow and then merge the two.

 11. Duplicate this layer. Image mirror.

 12. Add your text in a font of your choice, being sure that both vector and anitalias are checked. I used P22ZanerFour. Layers/convert to raster layer and give it a drop shadow.

 13. Add the appropriate copyright information and your watermark so that you both receive credit for your work.

Crop your image, save, and you’re finished. I hope that you have enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. Thanks for stopping by!
