This tutorial was written by Laura Emch on December 30, 2007. You may link to it through your groups and print it out for future use, but nothing, including my ideas, are to be removed from this site. I used the incredible artwork of Carolina Seabra. Please support this talented artist by visiting her site.
You will need the following supplies:
~ Large image of your choice, preferably wall paper size (some artists provide free wallpapers); or any wall paper image that is in keeping with the artists’ terms of use (stock exchange, etc.)
~ Tube and font of your choice
~ Embellishments of choice, or the ones I used from Nana’s Attic with a “members only” permission – please visit her site here
~Word Art
~Eye Candy Impact
~Simple/Diamond filter
~Xero Porcelain
1. In preparation for your tag, open any browser windows that you want to appear in your tag. Get rid of any unwanted icons on your desktop; add some if you wish.
2. Change your wallpaper to the image you selected for your tag. Take a screen shot of your desktop, making sure that it is set up the way you like it.
3. Paste your screen as a new image in PSP. Resize your image as needed. Image/sharpen. Image/sharpen more.
4. Effects/plugins/Xero/Porcelain with the default settings.
5. Make your background color one completely different than your image. Image/add borders with a size of 20. Click inside of the outline with your magic wand, set on 0 tolerance and feather. Flood fill with a color from your image.
6. Effects/plugins/Simple/Diamonds.
7. Selections/promote to layer.
8. Effects/3d effects/drop shadow with the following settings:

Deselect.
9. Open a 750x600 transparent image. Flood fill with white to give you a better idea of what you’re working with.
10. Copy merged and paste your framed image as a new layer.
11. Back on the framed image, copy just the promoted selection (the frame) and paste as another new layer on your main canvas. Drop one level on your layer palette.
12. Image/rotate to the left by 11 degrees and give it a drop shadow. I used the same settings as above.
13. Copy and paste your main tube as a new layer and bring to the top. Give it a drop shadow; I used Loka’s 3d shadow with the following settings:

14. Duplicate your framed image by right clicking on your layer palette. Make the bottom one active.
15. Effects/plugins/Eye Candy Impact. Under settings, find reflect in front, short. Use the nodes to stretch the shadow to fit your tube better, if needed.
16. Copy and paste any embellishments to your tag. I have included a few that I used.
*To colorize your doodles:
Select/all; select float. Layers/new raster layer. Flood fill with a suitable color. Keeping selected, click back on the original black layer and hit delete on your keyboard. Deselect. Make the colored layer active again and copy and paste onto your main canvas.*
17. Copy and paste the word art – if you like it – as new layers and give it a slight drop shadow.
18. Add your name in a font of your choice and place to your liking. I used Hurricane. Give it a slight drop shadow.
19. Add the appropriate copyright information and your watermark so that you both receive credit for your work. Crop your image, save, and you’re finished!
